**Audience:** Super Admin\
**Page type:** Task guide\
**Status:** Draft\
**Owner:** Compassly Documentation Team\
**Last verified:** 2026-04-03

## Purpose

Use this guide to automatically assign all newly created teams to a selected team member going forward.

## Before you start

* You must be signed in to Compassly.
* You must be a **Super Admin**.
* You must already be in the correct **team member to ...** connection view.
* You must select a team member before the toggle appears.

## Steps

1. Open the correct **team member to ...** connection view.
2. Select the main **Team member**.
3. Find the **Assign all new ...** toggle for that team member.
4. Turn the toggle **On**.
5. Review the confirmation modal.
6. Confirm the action.

## Toggle behavior

* The toggle appears only after you select a team member.
* The toggle always reflects the current state for the selected team member.
* Turning the toggle **On** applies only to new records created going forward.
* Turning the toggle **Off** stops future automatic assignment.
* Existing assignments stay unchanged when the toggle is turned off.
* If the team member is deactivated, the toggle turns off automatically.

## Role differences

* **Super Admin:** Can use this toggle.
* **Admin / Supervisor / Clinician / Basic:** Cannot use this toggle based on the current permissions matrix.

## What happens next

After the toggle is enabled, newly created teams are automatically assigned to the selected team member until the toggle is turned off.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/administration/system-settings/connections/teams-to-team-members/assign-all-new-teams-to-team-member.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
