# Track Data and View Graph for Program

**Page type:** Task guide\
**Status:** Draft (Noah Edit)\
**Owner:** Compassly Documentation Team\
**Last verified:** 2026-04-03 (Noah Edit: 2026-07-08)\
**Audience:** Super Admin, Admin, Supervisor, Clinician, Basic

## What This Section Covers

This material covers how to enter observations for a Client Program and review the Program’s progress over time.

## Before You Start

**For basic usage:**

* You must have permission "View client's program list".
* You must have permission "View graph".
* You must have permission "Track current attempts".

**For additional features:**

* You must have permission "Track past attempts".

> **Warning:** Depending on your role, permissions, and what page you are navigating from, what you see on the Data tracking & graph page will vary.

## Where To Start

#### A.

1. In the left navigation menu, select ***Clients***.
2. In the left navigation menu, select ***All clients***.
3. In the All Clients table of the page, select the name of the Client whose Programs you wish to view, under the column "Full name".

**OR**

#### B.

2. In the left navigation menu, select ***Programs / Maladaptives***.

## Available Actions

1. **Open the Data tracking & graph page.**
   * You may want to use the filters covered in "View Client Programs" guide to narrow your list data.
   * On either Client Program List, under any *Mastery Status* filter selection, open the Action dropdown menu (click the three dots on the right under the Action column) on the List Item that you want to edit and select either "Data tracking & graph" ("In progress" status), "View graph" ("Archived" or "Mastered" status), or "Check mastering" ("Ready for mastery" status).

2. **View Program observational data and graph.**
   * On all versions of the Data tracking & graph page, you will have three major sections of the page: The Graph section, the Baseline & Mastery criteria section, and the Table of Observations.
     * ***For the Graph section, you can:***
       * View the observational data in line graph form, with different tabs to control viewing just baseline data, just program data (the data being used to evaluate mastery), or both combined
       * View the statistical DCM Information (*Trials*, *Total counts*, *Average*, and *Comparision*. hover over the info bubble under the Title "DCM Information" and next to "General" for details on what each field's data)
       * Change the date range for the observations being displayed in the graph.
       * Add an event that might have impacted the results of the data. (See the guide page [Add Custom Event to Program Graph](/compassly-docs/core-modules/clients/programs/add-custom-event-to-program-graph.md) for details)
     * ***For the Baseline & Mastery criteria section, you can:***
       * View the calculated baseline data (*Baseline value*, *Baseline period*, and *Baseline date range*)
       * View the Mastery criteria (*Target*, *Team members*, and *Days*) as well as the Program's current *Mastery Status*
     * ***For the Table of Observations, you can:***
     * View the details on the observations logged for the Program (The date the observation took place, the name of the staff member who observed it, and the individual assessed value of the observation).

3. **Add an observation for the Program. (only possible for an "In progress" status Program)**
   * If you are navigating to the the Data tracking & graph page through an "In progress" Program, then ther should be a fourth major section of the page located near the top. This Observation Input section can vary slightly depending on the *DCM type* used for the Program, but you should see at least some of the following input fields for:
     * *Date* (Available across all DCM types)
     * *Number of correct attempts* (Count, Percent Correct, Rate DCM types)
     * *Number of incorrect attempts* (Percent Correct, Rate DCM types)
     * *Number of neutral attempts* (Percent Correct, Rate DCM types)
     * *Duration* (Duration, Interval, Latency, Rate DCM types)
     * *Prompt levels* (Task analysis, Prompt level DCM type)
   * By filling in the required fields and then selecting the "Apply" button, the inputs values will be calculated and logged as an observation for the Program.

*Figure 10: Data tracking & graph page Input setion overview.*

## Notes

* Some DCM types will have different forms of submission buttons (i.e. "Start Observation", "Observation didn't occur"). Simply applying data to the input fields will shift these alternatives to the "Apply" button for submission.

## Role Differences

* ***Super Admin / Admin / Supervisor / Clinician:*** Will be able to view graph information and track both current and past attempts.
* ***Basic:*** Will be able to view graph information and track current attempts, but does not have acces to track past attempts.

## Summary Of Section

**Upon reviewing this material, you should be able to:**

* Navigate to the Data tracking & graph page in several ways
* Identify Program observational data and utilize graph functions
* Add observational data to a Program regardless of DCM type

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/core-modules/clients/programs/track-data-and-view-graph-for-program.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
