# Target Skills

**Audience:** Super Admin, Admin, Supervisor, Clinician, Basic\
**Page type:** Task guide\
**Owner:** Product / Training / Support\
**Status:** Verified\
**Last verified:** 2026-04-06

## Purpose

Generate a **Target skill(s)** report for one client over a selected date range.

## Before you start

* You must have permission to generate reports.
* You must be on the **Reports** page.
* The selected client must already have programs or maladaptives assigned if you want to use **Domains**, **Subdomains**, or **Target skills** filters.

## Role differences

* **Super Admin, Admin, Supervisor, Clinician, Basic:** Can generate the report.
* Download options after the report is generated may vary by role.

## How to get there

1. Sign in to Compassly.
2. In the left navigation, select **Reports**.
3. Stay on the **Report options** page.

## Steps

1. In **Report**, confirm **Target skill(s)** is selected.
2. In **Client**, select one client.
3. In **Period**, select the date range.
4. In **Team members**, select one or more team members.
5. Complete any optional filters you want to use:
   * **Domains**
   * **Subdomains**
   * **Target skills**
   * **DCM type**
   * **Skill statuses**
   * **Data type**
6. If you leave optional filters blank, Compassly treats them as **All**.
7. Select **Apply**.

## How the filters work

* **Team members** stays disabled until you select a **Client**.
* **Domains** stays disabled until a client is selected and at least one team member is selected.
* **Subdomains** stays disabled until at least one domain is selected.
* **Target skills** stays disabled until at least one subdomain is selected.
* If you select only **Maladaptive behavior** in **Domains**, the **Subdomains** field is disabled.

## What you see in the report

After the report opens, each target skill or maladaptive appears as its own card. Each card can include:

* status
* graph
* domain
* subdomain
* DCM type
* DCM information
* baseline and mastery information when available

You can also:

* select report cards with checkboxes
* use **Choose all**
* copy a card
* copy **Graph only**
* download selected cards

## What happens next

After you generate the report, Compassly opens the **Target skill(s)** report page. You can now copy cards, copy graphs, or download selected report cards.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/core-modules/reports/generate-target-skill-report.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
