**Status:** Draft\
**Owner:** Compassly Documentation Team\
**Last verified:** 2026-04-06

## Purpose

Use this guide to add a new reusable value to one of the Profile builder columns.

## Before you start

* You must be signed in to Compassly.
* You must have access to **Profile builder**.

## How to get there

1. Open **Team members**.
2. Select **Profile builder**.

## Steps

1. Find the column where you want to add a new value.
2. Select **Add new** in the first row of that column.
3. Enter the new value in the inline cell that opens.
4. Press **Enter** to save the value.

## Notes

* The value must be unique within that column.
* The value is case-insensitive for duplicate checking.
* If the value is saved successfully, it appears at the top of that column.
* Adding a value in one column does not affect any other column.

## Role differences

* **Super Admin, Admin:** Can add profile-builder values.
* Other roles do not have access.

## What happens next

The new value becomes available anywhere that profile field uses the corresponding library.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/core-modules/team-members/profile-builder/add-new-profile-builder-value.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
