## Before you start

* You must be signed in to Compassly.
* You must have access to **Profile builder**.

## How to get there

1. Open **Team members**.
2. Select **Profile builder**.

## Steps

1. Find the value you want to update.
2. Open the inline edit action for that cell.
3. Replace the existing value.
4. Submit the update.

## Notes

* Editing changes only the selected value in the selected column.
* Editing a value does not reorder or update values in other columns.
* If you change only letter casing, Compassly may block the save because titles are treated as case-insensitive.

* **Super Admin, Admin:** Can edit profile-builder values.
* Other roles do not have access.

## What happens next

The updated value remains in the same column and is used anywhere that field references it.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/core-modules/team-members/profile-builder/edit-profile-builder-value.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
