# Delete Team

**Audience:** Super Admin\
**Page type:** Task guide\
**Status:** Draft\
**Owner:** Compassly Documentation Team\
**Last verified:** 2026-04-06

## Purpose

Use this guide to permanently remove a team that is no longer needed.

## Before you start

* You must be signed in to Compassly.
* You must have permission to delete teams.

## How to get there

1. Open **Teams**.
2. Find the team you want to remove.
3. Open the **Action** menu.

## Steps

1. Open the **Action** menu for the team.
2. Select **Delete team**.
3. If Compassly allows the delete, enter your password in the confirmation window.
4. Select **Delete**.

## When delete is blocked

A team cannot be deleted when it still has assigned team members.

If that happens, Compassly shows a warning message instead of the password-confirmation delete flow.

## Notes

* Delete is permanent and cannot be undone.
* If a team still has assignments, remove or reassign those connections first and then try again.

## Role differences

* **Super Admin:** Can delete teams.
* Other roles cannot delete teams.

## What happens next

After a successful delete, the team is removed from the Teams list.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://compassly.gitbook.io/compassly-docs/core-modules/team-members/teams/delete-team.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
